The Process
Enquiry
Tell us about your project. Whether it's remodelling a family piece, creating an engagement ring, or designing something entirely new. Complete our contact form and upload any photographs or inspiration. One of us will be in touch personally within 1–2 business days.
Consultation & Quote
We'll discuss your ideas, budget and timeline before recommending the best approach.
Following your consultation you'll receive:
- a design direction
- an estimated quotation
- an approximate production timeframe
There is no obligation to proceed.
Design Approval
Once you're happy with the direction, we'll prepare your final design and confirm all specifications before work begins.
A 50% deposit is required before production begins.
For heirloom remodelling, we'll arrange the safest way to receive your jewellery, whether that's secure collection or providing insured shipping instructions.
All jewellery entrusted to Old Mine is fully insured from the moment we receive it until it's returned to you.
Handcrafted in Melbourne
Your piece is handcrafted by our master jeweller in Melbourne using traditional bench techniques, with every detail carefully finished by hand.
Production generally takes 4–5 weeks, depending on the complexity of your piece.
We'll keep you updated as your piece progresses through our workshop.
Final Approval
When your jewellery is complete we'll send final photographs for approval.
The remaining 50% balance is payable before collection or delivery.
Collection or Delivery
Your piece is thoughtfully presented in our signature Old Mine packaging, together with relevant documentation, including valuation reports or gemstone certificates where applicable.
You can collect your piece by appointment in Brighton, Victoria, or we'll arrange secure insured delivery Australia-wide. Optional transit insurance is available for posted items.
